H.323
H.323
is an ITU-T standard for multimedia videoconferencing

SIP

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol
used for establishing sessions in an IP network. SIP
is an IETF application layer protocol for establishing,
manipulating, and tearing down sessions. SIP's main
purpose is to help session originators deliver invitations
to potential session participants wherever they may
be.
Call
Process
The
calls traverse networks using Internet Protocol (IP).
This means that the calls are going over the Internet,
which uses IP to transport the calls from one location
to the other.

routes the IP call to the Internet Telephony Provider's
(ITSP- YOU) point of presence (POP) in the US, which
in-turn connects to the Public Telephone system in
the country, where the call is destined. YOU has a
large connectivity to the ITSP in the US to ensure
a near toll quality voice experience.
YOU's
POP contains the ITSP's switch, which:
Digitizes and compresses the voice.
Routes the call to the Internet.
Converts the packets of data at the receiving end,
to a form compatible with the circuit-switched network.
Tracks billing information.
